Claims Reporting

AIM= s policy of insurance requires that reporting of claims must be made in writing. Some insureds provide first notice of claims to AIM via certified mail. Presumably, these insureds desire confirmation from the return receipt requested that their report has been received by AIM. This practice, alone, is undesirable and risks non-reporting or untimely reporting to AIM. Certified mail travels as first class mail and is subject to being delayed, misdelivered and lost. AIM encourages insureds reporting claims to send notice to it via fax. This achieves instant delivery and allows AIM to immediately start work on a claim. All claims are acknowledged promptly by AIM via fax. Insureds may also send their notice of claim by certified mail but should not rely on it as the sole method of providing notice.
